We’re Looking for Two Story Scouts/Interns!

Strangers is looking for two story scouts/interns. In this flexible three-month position, you’ll work independently to find potential stories for Strangers. We’ll give you guidance on where to look for stories and what to look for in a story, and we will meet weekly (in person if you’re based in Los Angeles, or remotely if you live elsewhere) to discuss your pitches.

You make your own schedule and there are no set number of hours, all we ask is that you bring a certain number of ideas to the table each week. You will be credited and paid a finder’s fee for any story you find that goes to air, though the position itself is unpaid.

To apply, submit the following to strangersradio@gmail.com, with the subject line “Story Scout Application.”

    • A cover letter and resume — Please include when you’re available to start.
    • One story idea — Provide a summary of the story, explain how you found the story (live storytelling event, local newspaper, a lesser known memoir, etc.), and explain why you think it would be a good fit for Strangers.
    • Tell us something you’re excited about right now. It doesn’t have to be radio/podcast related. It can be a book, an album, a scientific discovery, a joke, a secret spot, a new friend, an idea, a meal, a comedian — anything that you’re really into right now and tell us why.

Deadline to apply: October 29, 2017

Looking forward to hearing from you!
